The number of minors killed in road crashes in India increased by 28% last year, with those aged 18-45 being the most affected group. The report, released by the transport ministry, revealed that 9,528 minors were killed in road accidents in 2022, accounting for 6% of all fatalities. The data also showed that the working-age group of 18-60 years accounted for 83.4% of total road accident deaths, highlighting the significant impact on productivity.
