Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman addressed the Opposition's call to remove GST on health and life insurance, highlighting that three-quarters of the collected revenue goes to states. She reminded that taxes on medical insurance existed pre-GST and urged protesters to engage with state finance ministers. Around Rs 12,264 crore of collected GST last year went to states.
